SUMMER |
JUNE Morning dew starts the day, and we move into the season of Cherry harvesting. Summer nights, fireflies/lighting bugs fill the air and remind us of our childhood. JULY The waters are finally warm now and we can fearlessly dive beneath the waterfall into the 'Two Rivers.' There is nothing more refreshing than dipping into the cool water on a hot afternoon. The day is divided in two parts...where you can reset and restart from the beginning! AUGUST The closing events of "Theotokeion," which takes places on August 17th every year, includes a Brass Band concert in the main square, near the French Fountain. The sound of the water fountain is a backdrop to the sounds of the Brass Bands, over thirty musicians on one stage. This is definitely worth seeing and hearing! |
Springtime in Goumenissa and on Paiko is our time to connect with nature, with the mountain awakening and with our own senses... |
Summertime in Goumenissa and on Paiko, spending time under the shade of Plane trees, Beech and Chestnut trees, taking a dip in the cool river and listening to nightingales at dusk. |
Autumn in Goumenissa, begins with the smells of the harvest, the cauldron of "Raki" and Vinification. The sounds of brass bands accompanies all "Grape" celebrations. |
Winter in Goumenissa is fragrant with smells of wood burning stoves, the air is brisk and the first signs of snow and frost cover the mountain area. |
