The Smaragdenia (Emerald) Lake |
The scenery is idyllic with virgin abundant vegetation and steep small slopes from where crystal clear waters fall forming small or large waterfalls. The area is ideal for different kinds of activities. Smaragdenia (Emerald) Lake took its name from its emerald color which is created by the fossilized microorganisms in its bottom. It is a small natural lake, lost behind a fence of hazelnut trees, ivy and bines, with crystal clear and freezing waters. |
